Bel Air Woman Tries to Launch Art Career Through EBay

Brandey Sieracki of Bel Air has been drawing and sketching since she could pick up a pencil.

Now she is hoping to create a little extra cash flow by doing what she loves.

Sieracki, 27, says limited time and high costs have prevented her from seeking an art degree, but not from producing and practicing art.

"I have drawings from when I was a little girl, ever since I could pick up a pencil I’ve been drawing," Sieracki said.

From learning drawing techniques via YouTube to practicing on Photoshop, Sieracki has dedicated her spare time to teaching herself new techniques. In addition to working a full-time job, she works on her art for three to four hours each day.

"I can look through my art and see how much better it’s become just in this past year," Sieracki said.

Lately, her work has moved from pencil drawings to scanning and expanding pieces digitally.

She describes her work as "surreal or dreamy fantasy."

This week, Sieracki is selling her first print on eBay. There were 17 bids on the 16" by 20" print as of 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

"This is my first completed one that I’ve put up for auction," Sieracki said.

She said the decision to auction the piece was inspired by her ever-supportive friends, who all wanted a chance to buy her first print. She hopes to make a name for herself by continuing to sell her pieces, making T-shirts to feature her art and showing her work locally.

"I already have plans, I’m going to start with local flea markets," Sieracki said. "I have to try to promote my art."
