FALLSTON, MD — With a shelter full of nearly 300 dogs, cats, rabbits and other animals, the Humane Society of Harford County is waiving adoption fees on all pets on Saturday, Aug. 30, and Sunday, Aug. 31.
The shelter will be open to people looking to adopt animals from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days as part of the 11th annual Clear The Shelters nationwide pet adoption event.
“About 3,500 animals enter our shelter every year,” said Amanda Hickman, HSHC’s executive director, in a news release. “Currently, we are caring for 272 animals including dogs, cats, small animals, and barnyard animals, so Clear The Shelters could not come at a better time to help them all find homes. We are excited to welcome everyone to the shelter for this fun and important event.”
