Harford County District Cancels Summer School Due To Budget Issues
Harford County Public Schools has canceled its summer school sessions due to budget constraints, leaders announced recently.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Summer school will not be offered through Harford County Public Schools for 2025 due to budget constraints, officials announced recently.
The classes canceled for summer school include elementary and middle summer school, along with the high school credit recovery summer program.
"As we work to develop a sustainable and responsible budget for the upcoming fiscal year, adjustments are being made to align resources with available funding. As such, Harford County Public Schools can not offer summer school sessions for 2025," the school district stated. "This does not impact extended school year for students receiving special education services per their individualized education plan. This program is federally mandated and will continue as planned.
