Harford Man Sentenced For Capitol Riot Activity
A Harford County man was sentenced to three months in jail.
WASHINGTON, DC — A Harford County man was reportedly sentenced Friday to 90 days in jail for his role in the Capitol riot.
Robert Reeder, 55, pleaded guilty to parading, demonstrating or picketing in the Capitol.
He recorded videos of himself outside the Capitol Jan. 6 before and after the storming of the building, saying he got "tear gassed at least four times" and was inside the Capitol for "over half an hour," according to his plea agreement.

Sentencing was originally to take place in August, but the Sedition Hunters — an online group that aims to find those who committed crimes in the Capitol riot — posted video hours before he was to be sentenced showing Reeder assaulting a law enforcement officer outside the Capitol, which caused prosecutors to ask for a continuance.
Prosecutors asked the judge to give him a six-month sentence given the assault, which did not lead to any new charges, according to WUSA 9.

In federal court Friday, the judge reportedly said he "can't condone" the behavior at the Capitol and in sentencing Reeder to 90 days in jail, WUSA9 reported he wanted to send a message to other rioters; however, the judge said he credited Reeder for not having a criminal history and said he thought the Harford County man was "sincere" in his remorse, given his admission that he felt he was "radioactive," with no employment in 10 months, and testimony from Reeder's brother.
Previously Reeder said he took a train to Washington, D.C., to hear former President Donald Trump on Jan. 6 because he had "nothing better to do," his attorney reported in court filings obtained by the Associated Press, stating he made a "spur of the moment decision and regrettable mistake" when he attended the rally.
U.S. District Judge Thomas F. Hogan told Reeder he found the defense that he was an "accidental tourist" to be "self-serving" and said "in the riot cases, many of the defendants who are pleading guilty are not truly accepting responsibility," according to Insider.
The bill to repair the Capitol following the riot was $1.4 million, Reeeder's plea agreement says.
Reeder was sentenced to pay $500 in restitution for damage to the Capitol in addition to the 90-day sentence, according to Insider, which reported he is among fewer than 100 rioters to plead guilty among the more than 670 charged in connection with the Jan. 6 event.
