Harford County animal control officers found a dazed and injured bald eagle along a road Tuesday and were able to take it to a hospital.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A bald eagle found in a dazed state along a Harford County road was rescued by Harford County animal control officers.

The incident happened early Tuesday. Animal control officers received a report of a large bird by the side of the road that was acting unusual. Officers found a "surprisingly large" bald eagle who had either been injured by a passing vehicle or collided with something while chasing prey, the sheriff's office stated.

The eagle allowed animal control officers to secure it for transport to Chadwell Animal Hospital where it was examined and treated.
