Special Weapons Testing Conducted At Aberdeen Proving Ground Feb. 22

Special weapons testing will happen Saturday at the Aberdeen Proving Ground. There will be waterway restrictions on the Chesapeake Bay.

ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, MD — A single shot to support testing operations has been scheduled at APG North for Saturday morning. There will be waterway restrictions on the Chesapeake Bay in the area around Spesutie Island from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.. Military watercraft may be visible. Noise may be heard in some areas off the installation.

According to APG leadership, the testing is not hazardous to residents in surrounding communities.

"Organizations on APG take every measure to mitigate instances when training or testing becomes problematic to residents off the installation. To ensure we minimize the impact to our neighbors, we monitor the weather and the noise readings continuously throughout each day. APG leadership takes noise complaints very seriously and wants to provide as much transparency as possible to the surrounding communities without compromising the security of the missions conducted here," APG said in a notice.
