Why do you believe the teacher should be recognized or honored?
Mrs. Lopez treats all of her students as if they were her own. She goes above and beyond in all aspects of her career. She has created a safe and fun environment for all of her students with “special abilities.” I don’t call them disabilities. My son, Donte, is so excited to go to school every day and this is because of her and her para educators in her classroom. This has brought such peace and comfort knowing that he, along with the other students, are super excited about learning. She even stays in contact during the summer to check on her students.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the teacher?
Teaching children with disabilities is not an easy task and she makes it look easy. She truly cares for each of her students' well being and future, and has brought fun back into learning. This engages the students and makes them want to learn and show up every day.
