Thanksgiving Food Drive Kicks Off Saturday

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A Thanksgiving food drive benefitting local families kicks off Saturday and runs through Nov. 21.

Donations of non-perishable foods and other items such as diapers will be accepted in county government buildings, at parks and recreation facilities, and senior centers. All items collected will be taken to the food pantry at Harford Community Action Agency.

"Our citizens care deeply about families in need, especially during the holidays,” Harford County Executive Bob Cassilly said. “This food drive can help ensure that no one goes to bed hungry in Harford County.”

Most needed items:

• Shelf-stable milk including soy or almond
• Breakfast items
• Instant mashed potatoes
• Canned meat, chicken, tuna or salmon
• Beef stew and chili
• Peanut butter
• Meal makers

• Canned soup & fruit
• Fruit juice, 100%
• Nuts or seeds
• Pasta
• Diapers (any size)
• Toiletries such as soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo or other hygiene products
