Tuesday Accident Injures Bel Air Man

The single-vehicle accident took place on Sandy Hook Road.

A Bel Air man was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore Tuesday after his truck ran off the road.

He has since been released from shock trauma.

Around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, 45-year-old Tim Barker of Bel Air was driving a 1995 Ford F150 on Sandy Hook Road in the Bel Air area, according to , public information officer with the .

The truck was driving at a high speed when it drove off the road leaving about 73 feet of tire impressions on the asphalt, Worrell said.

She said the truck then moved back to the road, hit the embankment on the opposite side of the road, continued to skid, hit the embankment a second time and overturned then continued to slide on its roof for about 17 more feet.

He was flown by medevac helicopter to shock trauma for treatment, but had been released as of Wednesday evening, nursing staff said.
