HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A wintry mix arriving Friday afternoon in Maryland has prompted school officials to cancel evening activities.

Harford County Public Schools have canceled all after school activities, including aftercare, according to its website.

Maryland could see multiple inches of snow fall on Monday and slushy snow squalls Friday, prompting a winter weather advisory. The winter storms coincide with the arrival of a blast of arctic air that will send nighttime lows into the teens multiple times in the next week. Friday's storm is part of a low-pressure clipper system. The front is expected to arrive in the afternoon, leaving a sloppy evening commute.
