B-CC, Whitman, WJ Rank in Newsweek's Top 500 Schools
National ranking system is based on a new methodology.

All three Bethesda public high schools have ranked in Newsweek’s top 500 schools in the nation.
The schools – and – are among eight MCPS high schools that made the list, according to an MCPS press release. The other schools are Poolesville, Thomas S. Wootton, Winston Churchill, Richard Montgomery and Sherwood.
Whitman came in at 117; B-CC ranked at 145 and WJ ranked at 215, according to the survey.

Newsweek ranked the schools according to their success rates “turning out college-ready (and life-ready) students.” The results were based on a new methodology no longer based on Jay Mathew’s High School Challenge Index that appears in The Washington Post, according to MCPS.
The new national rankings were released June 20.
