Bethesda Firefighter Fights Cancer

The Washington Post reports on one rescuer's efforts to battle the disease after losing three sisters.

As the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure comes to Washington Saturday, the Washington Post reported Friday about a Bethesda firefighter who is making strides against breast cancer.

Montgomery County firefighter Marshall Moneymaker lost all of his three older sisters to the disease, and is now helping lead the charge against breast cancer. The story details how his fellow firefighters at Station 6 covered shifts for him as he cared for his sisters. Now, Moneymaker raises money and awareness for the cause, cheers on breast cancer survivors during events, and is even known to wear pink -- the color of the movement against breast cancer.

The full story is available in the Washington Post.
