COVID-19 Cases In Montgomery Top 21.3K; Positivity Rate Is 3.04%
Montgomery County now has 21,375 COVID-19 cases and 795 deaths. The test positivity rate is 3.04%, slightly higher than two weeks ago.

BETHESDA, MD — The number of COVID-19 cases in Montgomery County has grown by 94 since Monday, according to Maryland health officials, bringing its total to 21,375.
In that same time span, one more person has died from the new coronavirus — pushing the local fatality count to 795. Another 40 people may have died from COVID-19, but a laboratory test is still needed to confirm the cause of death.
The county continues to have the highest number of deaths in the state. It also has the second highest number of confirmed cases, after Prince George's County, which has 27,891, according to the latest figures.

Statewide, there have been 117,245 confirmed cases, 3,706 deaths, and 143 "probable deaths." Of the 371 people currently hospitalized, 93 are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The state has conducted more than 2,245,500 coronavirus tests to date. The positivity rate now stands at 3.62 percent. In comparison, Montgomery County's test positivity rate is 3.04 percent.
