Fourth Of July: What You Need To Know

Check out this useful information on county services, fireworks displays, and more.

Happy Fourth of July! It’s time to bust out the grill and snag your spot for the fireworks show. Here’s what you need to know today about county services, Independence Day celebrations and more:

  • There will be no county-provided recycling or trash collections today. All collections this week will shift by one day.
  • The following will be closed today: county offices, libraries, county liquor stores, TRiPS Commuter Stores, transfer station, MCPS administrative offices, and state offices and courts.
  • Parking at downtown meters, lots and garages is free.
  • RideOn buses and Metro buses will be operating on a Saturday schedule.
  • There is no track work scheduled on Metro today, and this evening to accommodate those heading down to the National Mall to the fireworks show. Remember, the Smithsonian station will be closed until the conclusion of the fireworks display.
