BETHESDA, MD — Two GoFundMe pages have been set up to support a Bethesda family, whose home was destroyed in an accidental fire on Sunday.
Montgomery County fire officials say the blaze at 4706 Chestnut St. caused more than $1 million in damage. Three adults and a 4-year-old girl managed to escape.
One pet, a cat named Sammy, did not survive, according to the online fundraisers. The surviving cat, Sirius, was treated at a local animal hospital.

The money raised online will help the family rebuild their lives and cover the cost of Sirius' vet bills, according to the GoFundMe pages.
The fundraiser set up for the family hopes to reach its $5,000 goal. As of Thursday afternoon, the GoFundMe page has raised $1,930.
