Residents are advised to stay hydrated, stay out of the sun, and where possible, remain inside with air conditioning.
For those who need to work outside, NWS advises rescheduling strenuous activities to the morning or evening, taking frequent breaks in the shade or in air conditioning, staying hydrated and wearing light weight and loose fitting clothing.

NWS has also issued a Code Orange air quality alert for Thursday. Children, the elderly, and people suffering from asthma, heart or lung disease should avoid strenuous activity or exercise outdoors.
