Maryland Solar Eclipse Weather Forecast

MARYLAND — The solar eclipse is almost here, and we're lucky to have great viewing spots right here in Maryland. Let's hope the weather corporates.

The forecast for Monday, Aug. 21 calls for a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2 p.m., according to The National Weather Serivce. Overall, the chance of rain is 40 percent.

Cross your fingers that the cloudy skies will make way for ideal eclipse viewing. The high is projected to be 89 degrees.

We'll see chances of rain for the first part of the workweek, but we're looking at mostly cloudy and clear skies from Thursday to Sunday.

Monday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 89. South wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Monday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2am, then a slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73. South wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Tuesday: A slight chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 8am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 92. Heat index values as high as 100. Southwest wind 5 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tuesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74. South wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Wednesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 85. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 63.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 80.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 60.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 78.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 60.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 79.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 62.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 81.
