Metro: What You Should Know This Weekend
Trains will be single-tracking between Grosvenor-Strathmore and Twinbrook.

If you’re planning on using Metro this weekend, here’s a few things to know:
- Trains will be single-tracking between the Grosvenor-Strathmore and Twinbrook stations due to platform maintenance work at the White Flint and Twinbrook stations between 9:30p.m. Friday and closing on Sunday.
- On Saturday and Sunday between 9a.m. and 9p.m. between Grosvenor-Strathmore and Takoma, trains will run about every 12 minutes. For the rest of the Red Line and outside of those hours, trains will run about every 24 minutes.
- Trains will be sharing the same track between Takoma and Forest Glen from 10p.m. Friday until closing Sunday.
- On Saturday, Metro will open early – at 5a.m. – to accommodate participants in the Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure in downtown Washington, D.C.
- If you’re planning on taking the Blue Line this weekend, expect delays. Franconia-Springfield and Van Dorn Street stations will be closed Sunday and free shuttle buses will run between the Franconia-Springfield, Van Dorn Street and Eisenhower Avenue stations.
