Monday is National HIV Testing Day

Monday, the National Association of People with AIDS is encouraging people to "Take the Test, Take Control."

June 27 has been dubbed national HIV Testing Day -- an advocacy initiative that promotes HIV testing. Early HIV diagnosis can be critical to treatment, according to the group. Nearly 40 percent of those infected with HIV are not aware of it until they develop AIDS, according to the group.

Several centers in Montgomery County offer HIV testing -- some even offer free tests. Here are a few nearby locations where tests are offered:
