These Montgomery County-Based Companies Made Fortune 500 List
The annual Fortune 500 list ranks the top companies in the United States. See which Montgomery County companies made the cut in 2020.
BETHESDA, MD — Fortune has released its annual list of the 500 top companies in America, which represent two-thirds of the country's gross domestic product, the business magazine says. Of those 500 companies, three are based in Montgomery County.
Fortune ranks companies by total annual revenue and, for the eighth consecutive year, Walmart topped the 2020 list, followed by Amazon and Exxon Mobil. Apple and CVS Health ranked No. 4 and No. 5, respectively, rounding out the top five spots on the list.
The 500 companies employ 29.2 million people worldwide.
