2-Year-Old Boy Left Alone in Locked Car: Police
A woman doing business in the Glen Burnie Courthouse left her sleeping son in her vehicle; she's been charged with neglect.

A mother who reportedly left her 2-year-old son alone in a locked car Wednesday while she was in the Glen Burnie Courthouse has been charged with child endangerment.
On September 23, 2015 at approximately 12:40 pm, officers were called to the parking
A person walking through the courthouse parking lot noticed the toddler sleeping in the back seat of a parked vehicle, which had its engine off and a window partially open. The bystander tried to wake the child, but when the boy would not wake up, the witness ran into the courthouse and summoned a court bailiff. The bailiff was able to reach through the window opening, unlock the vehicle and remove the child.

While paramedics checked the boy’s health, his mother, Ashley Myers, 31, of Baltimore, returned to the vehicle. Myers told Anne Arundel County Police she went into the courthouse to file paperwork and didn’t want to wake the sleeping child.
Officers reviewed security surveillance video that reportedly showed the boy was left alone in the vehicle for about 30 minutes.

The National Weather Service says the high temperature Wednesday in the area was 79 degrees.
Myers was arrested and charged with confined/unattended child and reckless endangerment.
A family member took custody of the boy. The case has been forwarded to the Department of Social Services.
