3 Fire Departments Battle Arnold House Fire

Three fire departments were called to put out a house fire early Monday in Arnold, authorities say.

ARNOLD, MD — Authorities are investigating what caused an early morning fire Monday on a front porch in Arnold that required three fire departments to bring under control. The blaze was reported at 2:43 a.m. in the unit block of Fox Run Way.

Anne Arundel County firefighters found fire coming from the front of a two-story, single-family home. Firefighters said in a news release that a fire in the front porch area of the home extended to the second floor and attic.

Thirty-nine firefighters from Anne Arundel County, assisted by firefighters from the Annapolis Fire Department and the United States Naval Academy Fire Department, brought the fire under control in about 30 minutes. The cause of the fire is under investigation and no dollar loss has been established.

Two adult occupants of the home have been displaced and are receiving help from the Red Cross. There were no injuries reported, the department said.
