ARNOLD, MD — Neighbors spotted an Arnold house fire early Saturday; the residents weren't home, Anne Arundel County Fire officials say. A passerby called 9-1-1 about 1 a.m. after seeing flames coming from the home in the 400 block of Broadwater Road. The passerby received no response knocking on the doors; authorities say the residents weren't home at the time.
Emergency crews found fire coming from the attic area on one side of the two-story single-family dwelling. Thirty firefighters from Anne Arundel County and the United States Naval Academy brought the fire under control in about 20 minutes.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Anne Arundel County Fire and Explosives Investigation unit.
