Business plan competition deadline looms; meanwhile, authors and musicians make a visit to AACC.

Business Plan Competition
The Entrepreneurial Studies Institute and Business Management Department at Anne Arundel Community College are hosting the eighth annual Business Plan Competition, sponsored by BB&T, to showcase former and current students’ plans for new business ventures. The deadline to submit business plan entries to compete for cash prizes is noon Friday, April 1.
According to an AACC press release, participants must be AACC students in good standing who are currently enrolled in at least one credit or noncredit class or who completed an AACC course between April 1, 2010 and March 31, 2011. The winning student and team will each receive a cash prize and the opportunity to move their business operation into AACC’s student business incubator rent free for up to two years.

Author VisitThe “Writers Reading @ AACC,” series is featuring a reading and booksigning by author Andrew Wingfield on Thursday, March 31, 2 p.m. in the Humanities Building Room 112. Wingifield is both a fiction and nonfiction prose writer whose works include a 2005 novel, “Hear Him Roar,” an award-winning short story collection “Right of Way,” as well as place-based personal essays. Wingfield is an associate professor in George Mason University's New Century College.
The AACC Pioneers Baseball team will play the Community College of Baltimore County at home on Thursday, March 31, 3:30 p.m. The AACC Pioneers Lacrosse team will play Delaware Technical and Community College on Wednesday, March 30, 12 p.m., at home.
