Law school, star gazing and band battles on tap this week at Anne Arundel Community College.
Whether you are a budding astronomer, musician, comedian or attorney, Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) provides a variety of programs and events this coming week for students and the public.

Stargazing at AACC
Local families are invited to come out and view the wonder of the stars at the AACC βCommunity Observing Night,β a free family event sponsored by the AACC Astronomy Club Saturday, March 5. A club meeting will be held 7:30 p.m. that is open to the public followed by stargazing. Bring your own telescope and binoculars or use one of the eight AACC telescopes to view planets, stars and the moon, weather permitting. The event will be held in the Astronomy Lab in the rear of lots A and B beside the Resource Management Building on the AACC Arnold campus.

Law School for the Public
On Saturday, March 5, from 8 a.m.-noon, local attorneys and judges will introduce and discuss civil, criminal and family law issues such as tenant and landlord responsibilities, wills, small claims, divorce and custody issues, at an event co-sponsored by the Anne Arundel Bar Association, AACC Legal Studies Institute and AACC Foundation Inc. The event will be held in the Careers Center Building, Room 200, AACC Arnold campus and is free, but registration is required. Comedy Stop at AACC
Comedian Ryan NiemillerΒ will provide a free show on Thursday, March 3, 11:30 a.m. in the Student Union dining hall on the AACC Arnold campus. AACC Battle of the Bands
This βBattle of the Bandsβ event will feature bands whose members include AACC students and alumni. The show will be held on Sat., March 5, 8 - 11 p.m. in the Pascal Center for Performing Arts on the AACC Arnold campus. The event, sponsored by the AACC Student Association Campus Activities Board, will feature the bands Dry Season, Point Blank, Rudder North, Val Nebbia Band, Vista Saints and Whence Cometh Evil. Ticket sales are under way in the Student Life office, Student Union Room 202. Tickets are $10 general admission, $5 for students with valid AACC student ID. Faculty Recital
A free music recital titled "A Few of My Favorite Things" featuring Marc Boensel, AACC part-time music faculty member, will be held on Sat., March 5, at 8 p.m. This is his first solo recital in 15 years. Boensel will be performing works for oboe and voice by composers such as Hindemith, Schumann, Mahler and Saint-Saens. The concert will be held in the Humanities Building, Room 112, on the AACC Arnold campus.
AACC Athletic Events
