Broadneck High Girls Lacrosse Seize State Title
The girls team beat Sherwood in a 21-5 blowout on Wednesday night.
Broadneck High School's girls lacrosse team became the new Class 4A/3A state champions on Wednesday night, beating Sherwood High School, 21-5.
According to the Severna Park Voice, the score was the highest in state finals history, with a total of 14 different players recording goals in the game, including all eight seniors on the team.

"This season for us has been one that you could have written a storybook about," said assistant coach Katie Kelly, noting that the team started off with a 0-2 record.
Broadneck senior Aislinn Probst said the team did well because members were a family.

"We play our best when we play as a family, and we certainly played like a family tonight and throughout the playoffs," Probst said.
Sherwood took the lead early in the game, but Broadneck fought back matching them 2-2 in the first half. Then, the Bruins secured their lead and held it throughout the game. Goalie Natalee Eastom finished with four saves, and according to The Voice, her teammates had her covered for much of the game.
The Bruins took home the state trophy for the the first time since 2003.
