Broadneck High School Fall Season: Field Hockey
Lady Bruins ready for another successful season despite the loss of seven seniors.

With a long tradition of excellence and a record like 13-3 last season, the Field Hockey team tryouts were about as competitive as they could be this month.
Still, the team took a hit as a very strong class of seven seniors, including All Metro and The Capital’s 2010 Field Hockey Player of the Year Paige Duncan, graduated in June.
Coach Jennifer Parks, now in her sixth season at BHS, knows this year’s team is heavy with upperclassmen, but young in varsity level experience.

“We’ve had a slew of injuries over the summer and have several girls out right now,” said Parks. “We should be very competitive and from pre-season competition thus far, we’ve seen that we have a very versatile group of girls willing and able to play multiple positions on the field.
Parks considers that as one of the team’s strengths as they head into a very tough season with the new tiered schedule.
