Caroline's Gourmet Offers Flavor Combinations Found Nowhere Else

Where else on the East Coast can you grab a savory Maryland cream of crab soup, a Carolina-style barbecue pork sandwich and a can of Cheerwine?

The only place that comes to mind for that combination is Caroline's Gourmet, the sister restaurant to Caroline's Cakes off Whitehall Road in Broadneck.

The restaurant recently revamped its website in an effort to streamline its catering service. It also has a Facebook presence, where new photos of new menu creations are regularly teased.

Offering an eclectic breakfast, lunch and catering menu, Caroline's Gourmet has developed a strong local following over the years. Manager Richard Ragsdale Reutter, son of Caroline, said though their location is a little out of the way for some, that doesn't stop customers from traveling across the peninsula to try something new.

"We just try to keep our customers happy, and they keep coming back," Reutter said.

So what's on the menu? A host of deli sandwiches, barbecue beef or pork, wraps, quesadillas, soups and dishes for kids like the Fluffernutter Sandwich—peanut butter and marshmallows on white bread.

Caroline's Gourmet is located at 1576 Whitehall Rd. Annapolis, 21409, in the Jemal's Bay 50 Shopping Center.
