Anne Arundel County Public School students have a special day set aside this year for their participation in the Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge.
The original date was Jan. 25, but due to exams, the state police agreed to reschedule Anne Arundel students' plunge to Feb. 1.
Last year's event was a big success. Local students garnered nearly $150,000 in donations to Special Olympics Maryland. Students from Arundel High School raised more than $40,000 with 469 members.Â
