Get Out: Music, Dancing, Boating and More

1) "Musical Pranksters" AACC Concert

When/Where:  Friday, 8 p.m., Pascal Center for Performing Arts on the (AACC) Arnold campus. 

Why Go:  The AACC Symphony Orchestra plays the funny out of Richard Strauss’ “Till Eulenspiegel’s Merry Pranks” and Johannes Brahms’ classic tribute to the papa of musical jokesters in “Haydn Variations.”  The AACC Wind Ensemble joins in with Mozart’s “The Musical Joke” and P.D.Q. Bach’s “Serenade for an Awful Lot of Winds and Percussion."

Price: $10 general admission; $7 students and AACC faculty and staff, senior citizens and groups; $5 for students with valid AACC ID.

2) “Irish Dancing” at Big Vanilla

When/Where:  Friday, 8 to 9:30 p.m., , 1209 Ritchie Hwy., Arnold.

Why Go:  Big Vanilla Athletic Club offers “Dancing with the Big V Stars” Adult Dance Class with March's theme, “Luck of the Irish.”  Participants will learn Irish dances from instructor Amy Brunner. 

Price: Couples - $25 for Big Vanilla members and $35 non-members; individuals - $15 for Big Vanilla members and $20 for non-members.

3) DNR Boating Safety Course

When/Where:  Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Eastport-Annapolis Neck Branch Library in Annapolis.

Why Go: Anyone born on or after July 1, 1972 must have a certificate of boating safety education to operate a motorized watercraft in Maryland. This event is presented by the Annapolis Sail and Power Squadron.

4)  BHS Athletic Boosters Bull Roast

When/Where: Saturday, 7 p.m., at the Midnight Columbian Center on 325 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park.

Why Go:  This fundraiser for the Broadneck High School athletic program will include music from the band Third Shift, beer, pit beef, auctions, raffle, games, a game wheel and "The Mechanical Bull!"

Price: Tickets are $40 online or $45 at the door. You can reserve a table for 10 for $450. 

5)  Java and Jazz for Goshen Farm

When/Where:  Sunday, 3 to 5 p.m.,.

Why Go:  Go spend a relaxing afternoon of good music, sweet and savory snacks, and coffee and tea with smooth sounds provided by local musicians. There will even be space to dance if the mood strikes you!

Price:  Free, but donations for are appreciated.
