Peacherine Ragtime Orchestra presents 'College'
Broadneck native directs musical group in performance this Sunday at University of MD College Park.

The Peacherine Ragtime Orchestra, led by Broadneck native Andrew Greene, will debut the reconstructed original 1927 orchestra score to Buster Keaton's silent comedy feature "College" this Sunday, May 8, at the University of Maryland - College Park's Hoff Theater at 4 p.m.
Admission is $15 for adults and $5 for students at the door and online at www.peacherineragtime.com.
“Our orchestra is the only group which has the original 1927 orchestra score,” said Greene. The score was originally compiled by Ernst Luz for a Thematic Music Cue Sheet, distributed with the original release of "College."

Greene said that this concert is the first time in 84 years that the score will be performed live with the film. The film stars silent-comedian Buster Keaton transitioning from high school to college, finding that his love interest prefers only athletes. Keaton portrays a bookworm and hilariously tries baseball, track and field, and crew before winning over his sweetheart.
“The program will also feature Charlie Chaplin's 1916 short, 'One A.M.,' as well as ragtime and theater hits from the turn-of-the last century,” said Greene. The event is a fundraiser for two student music groups at the University of Maryland: Sigma Alpha Iota and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
