Update: Rescuers Searching for Man in Severn River

The operator of a 30-foot cabin cruiser notified NRP that they believed their sole passenger fell overboard early this morning.

Update 5/28 at 1:30 p.m.:  Broadneck Patch has confirmed with Natural Resources Police (NRP) that an active search for the missing man continues along the Severn River to the Thomas Point area in the Bay, with three NRP patrol vessels and one U.S. Coast Guard patrol boat involved in the search.

The vessel from which the man reportedly fell has been seized by the NRP who are now conducting an official investigation into the incident, according to spokesperson Sgt. A.A. Wentworth.

The missing man has been confirmed as being Mark Harvison, 40, of Pasadena.

WBAL-TV is reporting that the U.S. Coast Guard and the Natural Resources Police are searching for a man who reportedly fell overboard from a vessel early this morning in an area from the Severn River to the Thomas Point Lighthouse.

WBAL is reporting the man is Mark Harvison, 40, who they say was reported missing by the cabin cruiser fishing vessel operator at around 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
