Riva Man Charged With Heroin, Weed Trafficking: Police

A traffic stop in Edgewater led police to seize drugs and cash in the arrest, authorities say.

A Riva man faces multiple drug charges after he was stopped for a traffic ticket in Edgewater, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

About 4:30 p.m. Thursday, officers stopped a speeding vehicle in the area of South River Clubhouse Road in Edgewater.

As a result of the traffic stop and search, police seized 227.3 grams of marijuana, three oxycodone pills, 1.08 grams of heroin, 21.5 grams of hashish oil, $4,230 cash, and various types of drug paraphernalia.

The total estimated street value of the drugs seized was $7,289, police say.

Jonathan Michael Lohsl, 26, of Pinecrest Drive in Riva, was charged with: possession with intent to distribute CDS: marijuana, possession of CDS: marijuana, possession of CDS: not marijuana, possession of CDS paraphernalia and numerous traffic citations.
