Taser Used on Garage Burglary Suspect: Police

A man reportedly found taking items out of a Glen Burnie garage faces several theft charges, police say.

A burglary suspect was subdued with a Taser by police after they confronted him inside a garage.

Anne Arundel County Police were called to a burglary in progress just after 2 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Fourth Avenue SW in Glen Burnie.

When they arrived, officers saw several items outside a garage and a man walking around in the garage. Police say the suspect – later identified as Kevin Wayne Brown, 39, of Peadmont, WVa -- tried to flee after assaulting one of the officers.

Police used a Taser to subdue Brown, who was then apprehended. Brown allegedly broke the lock to enter the garage and was in the process of stealing items when officers arrived.

There were no injuries in this case, however police say Brown was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center as a precaution, and medically released shortly afterward.

Brown was charged with second-degree burglary, fourth-degree burglary and second-degree assault.
