Maryland Pet Stores Sue To Stop ‘Puppy Mill’ Law
A coalition of pet store owners and breeders are suing the state of Maryland before a new law can take effect to ban the sale of dogs and cats in retail pet stores. Originally dubbed the "No More Puppy and Kitten Mills Act," the bill was passed by the General Assembly in April 2018 and is scheduled to take effect on Jan. 1, 2020.
Statewide Health Alert For Vaping After 5 In MD Hospitalized
Many people think vaping is a healthier alternative to smoking, according to the American Heart Association, but increasing reports of illness, breathing problems and even severe lung damage show that e-cigarettes may be dangerous, even in the short term. The Maryland Department of Health on Wednesday said that in the past two months, five people were hospitalized with severe breathing problems after vaping.
