Viewfinder: Strawberries, Music, Shopping and Fun

Here are some photos taken during yesterday's festival capturing the fun, excitement, and spirit of the day.

It was an all out community celebration. From Strawberry princesses to fresh strawberry shortcake, local residents enjoyed the fruit of the day at the Cape St. Claire annual Strawberry Festival.

The parade started off at the Cape St. Claire Center, with beauty queens, decorated cyclists, Broadneck High School poms and drums, and a very surprised and deserving Strawberry Queen. (Mary Lamb, the organizer of the festival, was surprised by one of her volunteers who presented her with an official robe and crown for her new title.) The day ended with a crowd playing, enjoying food together, and taking a dip at the main beach.

"This event is never about me," said a slightly embarrassed "Queen" Lamb. "Look around at the hundreds of people enjoying the day with their community. This is what it is all about."
