What's that Sound? AACC to Test Emergency System Wednesday
This year's emergency test is scheduled to occur at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

If you hear an emergency siren on Wednesday night, and you're in the Arnold area, rest assured—it's Anne Arundel Community College testing its emergency notification system.
The community college performs an annual test of the system to ensure it is in working order. The system helps the AACC public safety department to alert the community college of emergencies, health or safety threats via a siren, and message alerts across the scrolling banners and computer screens, according to a press release.
"The siren and public address system mounted on the roof of Truxal Library is 100 decibels at the source and 70 decibels at the campus perimeter. After the siren sounds, the public address system will announce that this is only a test," according to the release.
