A mentally impaired man wandered off into the woods during freezing cold temperatures.

The mother contacted the Prince George’s Police Department to help find her 31-year-old son on the night of Dec. 7.

The PGPD reports that the Aviation Unit stepped in by loading the crew onto an Air 1 and heading toward the 16500 block of Addison Patent Lane in Accokeek. The flight crew used the helicopter’s thermal imaging system, FLIR, to search for the man.
