Police: Woman Died After Crashing Into a Tow Truck

The Prince George's County Police Department is investigating the fatal wreck in Fairmount Heights Dec. 18.

Police have not released the name of the victim involved in a fatal car crash last week, according to Prince George’s Police Department.

Officers were called to the intersection of Sheriff Road and 61st Avenue in Fairmount Heights around 9:50 p.m. Thursday. Upon arrival police found a female driver with critical injuries from a crash involving a car and tow truck, PGPD reports. The victim was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Investigators found that a tow truck was stopped at 61st to make a left turn when the victim, traveling westbound on Sheriff Road, crashed into the back of it.

The tow truck driver and his passenger were not injured and the victim’s identity will be revealed once her family is contacted.
