Second Suspect Charged in McKeldin Mall Fountain Incident
Robert Monroe, 18, of University Park, is accused of second-degree assault and a fourth-degree sex offense.

University of Maryland police have arrested a second suspect at the McKeldin Mall fountain in College Park.
Robert Monroe, 18, of University Park, was charged on July 16 with second-degree assault and a fourth-degree sex offense.
According to investigators, three women undressed themselves in the early morning hours of July 9 and began swimming in the fountain. Police say they were approached by a group of six to eight men, who reportedly heckled them before picking up their purses and fleeing.

Police also allege that Munroe grabbed one woman's backside before leaving the area.
Last month, another suspect—Tavon Dametrius Clark, 18, of Bowie, Md.—. He faces charges of theft under $1,000, fraudulent use of a credit card, and use of another’s identification.

Monroe is scheduled to appear in district court in Hyattsville on Aug. 10, according to The Gazette.
