Two Prince George's Officers Indicted in Kidnapping, Assault

Prince George's County Police officials announced Thursday afternoon that two of their own were indicted on charges of kidnapping and assault.

Officer Michael Rowe, 26, of the 9500 block of Noble Drive in Upper Marlboro and officer Christopher Perry, 27, of the 8900 block of Tower Mill Lane in Waldorf were suspended and placed on administrative leave after they were indicted on charges stemming from an incident on Memorial Day weekend in Charles County.

The Charles County State's Attorney's Office charged Rowe and Perry with kidnapping, second-degree assault, false imprisonment and misconduct in office, according to county police officials.

Police said that the officers were charged in an incident involving three juveniles that occurred over the Memorial Day weekend, but no other details were available. After the incident, the juveniles and their parents contacted Charles County police, who then contact PGPD.

According to Asst. Police Chief Kevin Davis, Perry and Rowe were off duty and were out of uniform but were in a marked Prince George's County Police cruiser at the time of the incident.

"The expectation is that police officers conduct themselves in an ethical and professional manner whether they’re on duty or off duty," Davis said.
