Bedroom Blaze Sparked In Highland Home
Firefighters from four counties battled a bedroom blaze in a Highland home Thursday afternoon.

HIGHLAND, MD — A fire broke out around 4:30 p.m. Thursday at a home located in the 6600 block of Prestwick Drive in Highland.
When firefighters arrived, they found smoke coming from the second floor. Firefighters found the fire burning in a bedroom and brought it under control, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.
There weren't any firefighter or civilian injuries, but three adults were displaced and will be assisted by the American Red Cross. Mutual aid was provided by Montgomery, Prince George's and Carroll county firefighters.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Maryland Office of the Fire Marshal.
