HOWARD COUNTY, MD — An avid lottery player celebrated his birthday an August, just ahead of his retirement, then won $50,000 on a scratch-off ticket. Even sweeter for the Howard County resident is that his first grandchild is on the way.
The Howard County resident bought his ticket at Lisbon Liquors at 16109 Frederick Road in Woodbine. When he arrived, the store was getting ready to close.
“The guy was getting ready to shut down the store, but he let me in,” he told lottery officials as he was claiming his prize.
