Man Faces Charges After Breaking Into Trailer Parked At Oakland Mills High School

Police have arrested a man they say broke into a trailer located at Oakland Mills High School.

COLUMBIA, MD — A security alarm was tripped at Oakland Mills High School July 11 around 4 a.m. and police were able to arrest a suspect.

According to the Howard County Police Department, officers discovered that a suspect had broken into one of the trailers located on the property. Police found the suspect and arrested him. Nothing was reported stolen, the police department stated.

Alexander Ost, 41, of no fixed address, has been charged with burglary in connection to the incident.

Last summer, Howard County Police were dispatched to Harper's Choice Middle School located at 5450 Beaverkill Rd. in Columbia on July 4, 2024, around 3:15 p.m. A security alarm had been tripped at the school and two 15-year-old teenage boys were found in a trailer on the school property. Nothing was reported stolen and the boys were arrested at the site, according to Howard County Police.

In the overnight hours July 4-5, 2024, police say unknown suspects entered Oakland Mills High School located at 9410 Kilimanjaro Rd. in Columbia. Police say they might have gained access to the building through an unsecured door. Nothing was reported stolen.
