Man Reports Head Injury Then Police Learn He'd Been Shot

A man contacted police for a head injury but a hospital medical team discovered he'd actually been shot in the head, police reported.

COLUMBIA, MD — Late Sunday night, a man contacted police and reported sustaining a head injury. But when the man was taken to the hospital, it was discovered that he had been shot.

The incident happened Sunday, Sept. 7 around 10:25 p.m., according to the Howard County Police Department. Police were called to a home located in the 12100 block of Little Patuxent Parkway in Columbia for a report of a person in the home with a head injury, the police department reported.

The victim is listed in stable condition, the police department disclosed.
