Maryland Weather Forecast: Cool Fall Air Sticking Around, Chance of Rain by Thanksgiving

The fire threat in Northern Virginia will continue into Monday, but conditions will improve and we could see rain by Wednesday night, according to the National Weather Service. The week starts very cool and temperatures will climb a little as the week goes on.

Winds will slowly decrease beginning Sunday night, but will continue into Tuesday. Gusts Sunday night will reach up to 46 mph, and Monday gusts will reach 41 mph.

The high Monday will be 45 degrees, and 48 degrees on Tuesday, while overnight lows will be below freezing both nights.

We'll hit 50 degrees on Wednesday with mostly sunny skies, and a chance of showers enters the forecast Wednesday night, with a 40 percent chance of precipitation.

The Thanksgiving forecast is a 40 percent chance of rain, with a high temperature near 54 degrees.

Sunday: Partly cloudy, with a low around 29. Breezy, with a west wind 18 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 46 mph.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 45. Breezy, with a west wind 17 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 41 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 48. Northwest wind 9 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 50.

Thanksgiving Day: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 54. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 54.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 53.
