Woman Stabs Victim With Scissors: Howard Co. Police

A 47-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder after police say she stabbed another woman with a pair of scissors.

JESSUP, MD — A woman stabbed another female with a pair of scissors on the morning of Sept. 22, leading to attempted murder charges being filed.

The incident happened Sept. 22 around 9:17 a.m. in the 8100 block of Washington Boulevard. Police were called to that location for a report of an assault and discovered that Wendy Schoonmaker, 47, of Ellicott City had grabbed a pair of scissors and stabbed the female victim, according to police.

The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries that weren't life-threatening. Schoonmaker was arrested at the scene and charged with attempted first-degree and second-degree murder and assault.
