Gambrills Woman Wins 'Iron Girl' Half Marathon
Bridget Holt edged out the second-place finisher by five seconds in the second annual event in Columbia. An Odenton runner finished fourth.
A Gambrills woman on Sunday won the 2nd annual Athleta Iron Girl Half Marathon, outkicking the second-place finisher by five seconds.
Bridget Holt, 34, ran the 13.1 mile race in 1 hour, 22 minutes and 22 seconds.
Sunday also featured a 5k race. More than 2,000 runners took part in the events combined.

Odenton resident Alison Slade finished fourth in the half marathon with a time of 1 hour, 23 minutes and 45 seconds.
The event was produced by the non-profit TriColumbia, with proceeds going to the Claudia Mayer Cancer Resource Center at Howard County General Hospital.
