Scott Hymes Enters District 4 Race
The Democrat from Crownsville boasts of strong credentials on environmental issues. He will hold a campaign kickoff event on Nov. 13.

Crownsville business owner Scott Hymes has announced his candidacy for the District 4 seat on the Anne Arundel County Council.
Hymes, a Democrat, said he will hold a kick-off fundraising event on Nov. 13 at J. King's Restaurant in Gambrills.
Hymes will be on the ballot along with Andrew Pruski, a Democrat and school board member who launched his campaign in August.
Current council member Jamie Benoit will not be seeking re-election in 2014.
Hymes works as the program manager of the Maryland Smart, Green & Growing Initiative for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and is Outreach and Marketing Manager for the Chesapeake and Coastal Service Restoration and Financing Division. He is also owner of a music and video production company and is the lead singer and keyboardist in two bands.
Hymes has served on the Severn River Commission and is the vice president of the Herald Harbor Citizens Association. He also created a conservancy group to preserve forests in his community.
The campaign kickoff event will be at J. King's on Nov. 13 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
