Be sure to sign up for the annual free children's bike rodeo and the 7th annual Lifeline 100 Community Bicycle Event Oct. 3.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — Grab your bicycle and head over to the 7th annual Lifeline 100 Community Bicycle Event which begins and ends at Kinder Farm Park Oct. 3. Hosted by the Anne Arundel Department of Recreation & Parks, Anne Arundel County Police, Bicycle Advocates for Annapolis and Anne Arundel County, the ride highlights cycling awareness, safety and the benefits of bicycling across 100- and 65-mile scenic routes or 30- and 15-mile flat, paved trail routes.

In years past, more than 800 participants show up to participate in the ride. All types of bikes and all experience levels are welcome. The free children's bike rodeo for ages 4 to 10 also will be held that same day from 1 to 3 p.m. The bike rodeo will include a short bike safety check, helmet instruction and safe riding tips followed by a kids’ obstacle riding course that includes turns, stops and crossings. Reserve a free time slot at www.lifeline100.com/rodeo.

In recognition of Hunger Action Month, the bicycling event will donate 30 percent of all registration fees collected Sept. 1-12 to the Anne Arundel County Food Bank.
